While studying to become a medical doctor Lita Pepion came to realize that many health problems result from the human condition and cannot be “fixed” by medical doctors and the dangerous and destructive pills they so readily hand out.

Wanting to help strengthen and heal Native People, Lita— understanding that fitness and personal choices have a great impact on our health— formed CRL Health & Fitness, LLC (formerly CRL Consulting), a Native (Blackfeet) owned and operated company specializing in reducing health and life disparities of the Native Americans by providing education, motivation, training, coaching, and technical assistance services.

Lita grew up on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation near Heart Butte, MT. She is a single mother of three boys, Cliff, RJ and Lane (CRL) and is a new grandmother to Kiaayo and Jocelyn. Her life work has focused on helping others improve their health and quality of life and raising her sons. Her vision is to see strong, vibrant Native communities and to leave the world a little better place for her sons and all people.

Lita studied pre-medicine and biology at the University of Portland and the University of Nevada-Reno graduating with a B.S. in Biology as one of the Top 10 Senior Women at UNV-Reno. She attended the first two years of medical school at the University Of Minnesota School Of Medicine, completing several clinical internships at Indian Health Service Clinics in Montana, South Dakota, Nevada and Minnesota. She completed two years of graduate education specializing in education and curriculum development at Montana State University. She is a Montana licensed teacher, a Native American Health & Fitness Consultant, certified fitness instructor and personal trainer and a Master Trainer for FiTOUR. Lita also serves as a board member the Billings Public Schools Indian Parent Advisory Committee, the Montana American Indian Women’s Health Coalition and volunteers at a variety of community events.
